History of siberian cat

 

Siberian cats were initially diffused in the Caucasus and Minor Asia, later on moved towards the Siberia and Russia.

The difficulty due from the distribution of the territory and the ancient origins made that the Siberian race is one race pure and that is not caused from crossings with cats of different races.
In the past we can try history of powerful cats with very big dimensions with thick hair; wild animals and they were good hunters. They have been then found a lot of photos that demonstrate such testimonies.

In consequence to its initially difficult character and its enormous size it acquires the name of Siberian Cat of the Forests even if now the contact with the man has rendered it sociable and affectionate.

The commerce in principle and the remarkable increase of the movements from every country of the persons have made so that the knowledge of the Siberian Cat increased, and now it is a cat loved by all people.

The introduction of the Siberian race initially has been difficult because the procedures for the import of the animals had long times and still today there are little cattery in Italy and America: the Siberian race is stillrace in Europe.

The first copy of Siberian cat has been introduced in Europe from Hans and Betty Schulz in 1989 and from David Boehm in America and subsequently in Italy with the Siberian cat Quendalina Romanova; the international standard for the Siberian race has been accepted but single in 1991.
